This is where it all began.

In 2003 Square-Enix release the remake of the first two FInal Fantasy games. The original NES games can be dated all the way back to 1987 to 1988 and has made a name to the video gaming industry. With the remake Square-Enix gave the games more better graphics, better sound qualities, CG movies at the beginning and many more. These two began as a driving force into the company's success over the years and they were not the start in fact they were the origins.

Final Fantasy:

A legend goes that in time of darkness, four heroes will appear to save the world. Thus you play as those four warriors namely as the Light Warriors.
Each of them holds an orb in order to fullfill their destiny. This story concept maybe boring today but in those old days this were already the coolest you can get in a game. Apparently this is were gamers have there first taste of party based battle system and also you get to choose which characters are in your party from the start. You can choose from a number of classes in the start. The classes are Warrior, Thief, Monk, Red Mage, White Mage and Black Mage. You have total freedom in selecting your party; you can even select one class multiple times. The thing is that this Final Fantasy game is very hard to play at first. You must keep up with your characters either buy them new weapons or stock them up with items or learn them with new magic spells. Also the dungeons here are very long. You can wander around in a dungeon for hours because of its maze like designs but this what makes the game interesting pure challenge for the mind.

Okay the graphics may not look glorious. Some may not like the 2D concept of the game but the characters and environment not to mention the dungeons and towns are very colorful to look at. Even the battles look very nice and attractive. As for the music, everyone knows that the music in the NES version is horrible, so the people at Square-Enix remade the music as well but the original melodies are the same. So Final Fantasy will be remembered as a real classic game. it will surely be enjoyed by anyone everytime they play it. So far this game proves more challenging than the Final Fantasy games as of today.

Final Fantasy II:

Okay the story of Final Fantasy II isnt that great but of course back then this is already huge for most gamers at that time. The Fynn kingdom falls to the hands of the Paramecia Empire. Its on a mission to take over the whole world and nothing can stop them. Eventually for young Fynnians escape to the town of Altair were a rebel group was formed to try to stop the Empire from bringing more horror and chaos to the world.

On this game a weird experience level up system was introduce. Not to use experience to gain stats, but the actions done in battle. For instance if you heal alot you will become better in using magics and more magics will be learned. Get hurt by alot of enemies and your HP will increase. Fight alot then your strenght will increase. It sound a good system but sometimes it will be frustrating. The game also shows a nice concept. You have three standard characters in your party but the fourth one will come and go and will have different abilities so its a big advantage. Also the game is somehow easier than the first Final Fantasy. You will most likely will not get stuck in a situation. Also the enemies depends on the story as well, so if your in the start you will fight weaker enemies but as you progress stronger ones will appear to challenge you.

The graphics are pretty much the same as in the first FInal Fantasy. Also it has less colour thus making it less attractive but the graphics are already good enough to other old school games. The music and sound on the other hand is a bit serious than in the previous game and its well compose thanks to the remake of the game of course. Well Final Fantasy II will be remembered as a great role playing game. With a unique level system at hand its makes the game interesting and shows that its very different to the other Final Fantasy games.

Final Fantasy Origins is simply a must have for any die hard old school gamer or to any Final Fantasy fan. If you want to relieve he history of the series then these games are the best to start with. These two games will surely bring quality time to the player and also it will give challenge to anyone.
