Chocobo's and Dungeons, a tried and tested formulae that proves it still works...

User Rating: 7 | Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon WII
As a franchise, as much as I love it, Final Fantasy still insists on milking the engorged cash cow it has created, sometimes producing some mediocre results. Fortunately, this isn't the case with Chocobo's Dungeon. What could so easily have turned into a sub-standard Roguelike actually manages to use the charm of the yellow feathery one to it's advantage, capturing the essence of the series in an accessable and fun way.

The plot is very predictable FF fare, and should be easy enough to second guess throughout, but it's the presentation that really shines through in this package. Visual candy provided by the pre-rendered cutscenes, quirky and likable characters all grouped up with some of the cutest FF bad guys you'll ever see.

To summarise, Square have provided us with a very competent addition to the Chocobo's Dungeon series, a game that you might not want to like, but will eventually suck you in with it's cute, captivating visuals and strangely addictive gameplay.
