Good game... if you happen to have 2-4 gamers, 2-4 GBAs and 2-4 GBA to Gamecube connector cables in the house.

This game has to modes: co-op and solo. The co-op mode requires 2-4 GBAs and 2-4 GBA to Gamecube connector cables, while the solo mode just requires one Gamecube controller. When I first played this game I played with my friends and we had a blast. It probably has the best co-op gameplay on a Gamecube game. The only problem is if you're playing alone, this game is pretty boring. The aspect of playing with someone and at the same time, trying to beat them (each player gets a separate task to complete during a level and earns points based on how well they completed it) is gone. The levels are extremely repetitive whether you are playing solo or not. Often times you will go to the same exact level 2-5 times throughout the course of the game. One thing that's good about this game is the battle system. Its a hack-and-slash battle system but surprisingly involves no button mashing. You scroll through your list of attacks and spells while you battle (you don't get to pause to switch them) and press the A button to execute the attack/spell. You will often need a combo move for the attack/spell to reach its full damage potential. This battle system sounds hard but its very easy and smooth during gameplay (though it requires a very small learning curve). The boss battles are also very enjoyable. However the repetitiveness and simplicity of the levels in solo mode take away from the high points of the game. Although this game has many good points, they're not enough to save this game. My advice, if you have the necessary hardware and the friends willing to play it- buy it. If not (which is most likely the case) either rent it or don't bother.
