I went into this game as many others out there... Having read all the things that many people have written about this game and doubting if I would even care to play it. I can safely say that I have really enjoyed this game so far and I am just starting year 4 with a friend of mine. The game looks great, with subtle detail being placed all throughout the world. This is detail that most people would overlook, like the fantastic, albeit a little too ripply, water effects. Don't get me wrong however, the visuals in this game are fantastic, from the detailed characters to the lush environments, this is a game that will bring you into its world. The music and sound effects are up to the general square standards and there's really not much else that can be said about that... However, as much as I have enjoyed this game thus far there are a few things that I feel should have been addressed in the making of this game. I haven't played the single player mode at all so I can't really criticize that aspect of the game. The multi-player mode is a little confusing at first and there are still some things that even as far as we have been through this game that I would have changed. I know that most people are really upset that the multi-player requires the use of a GBA, but I realize why this was done. However, switching back and forth all the time, especially in the middle of battles, to load a new item or hope to get that fish eaten right on time can become quite cumbersome. Plus there are just too few buttons on the GBA to truly make it a functional controller for this game. It works alright as it is, but if it were possible to have one extra button that could be a dedicated attack no matter which skill you are under would be a big help. This would cut down on the deaths because you keep scrolling past the attack option in your skills list. Everyone has their issues with this game and even though I do have some problems with it, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is a great game that is truly a blast to play with your friends, so gather up your GBAs and go play this one...
