A+ Game

Nintendo have failed a lot recently in giving us a fun FF minigame. There was FF tactics, Chocobo Tales & an FF3 re-release, all of which were either too intense or too laborious to be something you could jump straight into. Crystal Chronicles hits the nail on the head, a great 3D RTS that really captures the idea of using single player movement to get your menus. Not only that, this has become my best value wii arcade game in a day.
The game offers a very smooth grind with a lot of variety, I played for 5 hours straight and had to prise myself from it. The introduction of new features is slow enough not to confuse but possibly a bit too slow - I couldn't kill a lvl 10 boss until one of my guys was lvl 20.... straight after that I got the ability to party which would have been very useful a minute ago :P The main appeal of the game is the ability to berserk through time if you have nothing to do, time passes in days (turns) that can be skipped, after a while you blaze through doing a turn every minute and the grind fizzles to a frenzie of clicking and swizzing the remote :) As I said the interface makes this game, the use of every button on the Wii and some wrist action gives you a UI you can really get a rush from.

The gamespot review was completely off mark and focused completely on the OPTIONAL contents value, which I might buy anyway caus I'm getting amazing value so far. A real classic that I'm going to be playing every space second for a while.

My only hope is that they'll offer a beefed up version that lets you watch your party take down the dungeon Boss :)
