Fantastic game. The one that started all the Mana Series (or Seiken Densetsu in Japan)

For a game that is almost 15 years old, this one is still really good. Keep in mind that this is the original game in the Mana series and also the game that the new GBA Sword of Mana game is based on. Although the two are almost identical they are not the same game (it would be good to play both). They do however, have the same story.

As I said, this is actually a Mana game and was only called FF in the US for marketing purposes. Everything in the story is about Mana (including the Mana tree). The graphics for it's time are great and in the style of the original Final Fantasy. This is also the first game to feature a Moogle (which is a Mana creation) and also the first game in the US to feature a Chocobo (which doesn't appear in later Mana games) .

Gameplay is Mana style. There are techs and a bunch of weapons you can use. In addition, like any other Mana game, you have to use certain weapons at certain times to do things like chop down bushes of jump over gaps.

This is also not an easy game and I died more than a few times. I suspect the new game has been made easier. It also features a very nice score which is generally very mellow and it fits well with the ending.
