A good game, but ruined by the terrible sound.

User Rating: 6 | Final DOOM PS
I've never known a game to be ruined completely by one aspect, especially something like the soundtrack, but somehow final Doom for the PlayStation has managed. The developers have got rid of the fast tempo midi music, which we all love perforating the undead to, and replaced it with some god awful attempt at horror music. The problem with this is that, in a game where you spend most of the time charging through masses of hellspawn with whatever weapon you still have ammo left for, the eerie angle does nothing but slow the pace down to the extent of almost destroying the entire game's fun factor. As well as this, there aren't half as many missions, as it's on the Playstation there's no online play and they got rid of the Archviles and the Mancubuses. The only thing that stops this game being a total let down is that it is still essentially Doom, one of the best games around.
