This game will knock you out in a flash. But with time you will fight back and become the greatest of all time
Two days before the writing of this review commenced i picked up Fight Night Round 4, expecting it to be similar to Fight Night Round 3. I could not have been more wrong.
Graphics:
Although subpar, in my opinion, to FNR3 they still look amazing and hold their own with any other high profile game out there today. The muscle ripples when you punch the opponent, or miss and hit their arm; the facial expressions of you or the opponent when you miss a punch or get hit; and high framerate together with the speed of the matches make this game fast, intense, and utterly unpredeictable.
Gameplay:
I touched on that in the Graphics section, and i will say it again, it is fast paced and unpredictable, just when you think you are gooing to knock out your adversary you get a sudden haymaker uppercut and go down in a flash. the game calls this a flash knock out and it happens in, guess what, a flash. But the game is very rewarding too.
The legacy mode is excellent. you schedule fights, and training exercises, and move up in the ranks if you win matches. But if you move up to fast you will be outdone by everyone around you. You need to give yourself time to get better and make your rankings better.
Online is fun, it's similar to the obligatory Fight Now sections which is ultimatly a quick fight, except you fight real people.
A quick note, fighting as Mike Tyson, or Muhammad Ali, and facing the other is one of the most intense things I have ever done in a video game.
OVERALL:
The game is must have for anyone, it needs to be in your collection. You will suck at first and you will get frustrated, but give it time and you will realize the potential tha tit beholds and the many treasure it will grant you with time patience.
