Fight Night Round 3 is the best boxing game that I have played. From the powerful haymakers to the thunderous combos, this game is a knockout.
Gameplay: This is almost as authentic as boxing gets. you have a wide range of combos to haymakers and a number of defensive moves at your fingertips. The career mode is fun. It feels a little limited though. But there are a variety of gloves, clothing, and tattoos to aquire. Training is also a nice feature to it. It doesnt feel overrated or doesnt make you feel like youre gaining points just to lose others also. One thing fixed was the haymakers. They don't come too fast anymore and there are major drawbacks from throwning them.
Graphics: Some of the best ever seen in a boxing game. I feel that they have stepped down some notches in the PS2 version though. The player models are very accurate. FNR3 does aims to please when it come to the graphics department.
Sound: OH THE SOUND! IF YOU HAVE SURROUND SOUND AND YOU LIKE BOXING, PURCHASE THIS GAME. The sound of the hits when you knock an barely conscious boxer to the mat is unbelievable. It just gives you the feel to do it again. You actually feel the bass coming from the speakers as you hit them with haymakers. It also sounds good if you don't own surround. The commentary is nice and the crowd sounds are nice. Value: After career mode, it's best to get better at the game and challenge people online. After career, there's really nothing to do but start another one, but under a different profile unless you want to erase your previous boxer.
Overall, this is a great game. A must have for any boxing fan.
