If it was a book, I wouldn't be able to put it down.

The graphics were very well done, smooth and life-like. Subtle things like pinn pedals falling from the trees just outside the Hero's Guild or the lighting just made everything seem amazing. Characters in the game look great.
The gameplay was great too. Everybody says the controls were too simple but isn't that a good thing? So when something unexpected pops up and you know what to do, isn't it easier to just do it than fumble with what buttons to push? It was also interesting the way you could pick the way you looked or what weapons you used. Unfortunatly this was whittled down, because some articles of clothing and weapons are better than others in terms of protection or power, so you have no choice but to use the better stuff, no matter how ugly it may look to you. The way that people adress you by your nickname is also whittled down, because you can just buy your nickname and be called whatever you want, taking away what could have been a cool gameplay element.
The game's sound was fantastic, the sound of swords clashing together, of rolling to dodge an attack, or even something as subtle as the wind blowing through the trees was well done. Overall the sound was great.
The story was interesting and dark. The game is set in a very lighthearted, "nintendo-ish" world, but the events that happen there are dark and terrible. As a child your parents are slaughtered by bandits and your hometown is burned to the ground, and there are plenty of surprises as the game goes on, but I can't say any of them in fear of giving away the good parts.
In general, this game is a spectacular piece of work. I would reccomend this game to anyone who appreciates RPGs and/or action games. It's just that good.
