A revolutionary new fighting game. I can't imagine a boxing game played any other way.

Fight Night Round 2 is one of the best fighting games produced to date. It combines great graphics, an excellent soundtrack, a few varied modes to play and ofcourse, the a new gameplay system.
It flawlessly introduced the new Total Punch Control which gives you full control over your characters punches. By moving the right control stick, your characters right arm will set up a punch, follow through or wind up for a big knock out. Vice versa for the left arm. For players who prefer a classic style, there is still alot of get out of buttons - but to set up the best combos its best to use Total Punch Control.
There are grabs, cheap shots and "taunts" aswell. Not to mention a variety of different costumes and gameplay modes. You can also increase your characters stats by training in between fights, although they will decrease with age. You can set up an entourage, different trainers and intro music between fights to that give ingame benifits.
In between rounds there is a mini-game type thing in which you must seal your boxers cuts and swellings by using the control sticks. This can be tiring, but it will help when you get back in the ring.
The soundtrack is nice, although there are not enough songs - that and you will rarely here music inside the ring. Just commentators. It would have been nice to have music elsewhere other then just in menus.
In the end Fight Night Round 2 turned out to be a revolutionary boxing game. I can't imagine a boxing game played any other way.
