Fight Night Champion User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Disappointing"
This game is so much worse than it should be.
GOOD:
1.) The graphics are second to none period.
2.) The championship mode, while flawed is still a new and fresh addition
STAGNANT:
1.) The controls and game play... the new stick system is billed as an "all-new" experience. This is more marketing than reality. The controls are largely unchanged.
2.) The online ranked portion is exactly the same as previous rounds.
BAD:
1.) Legacy mode is complete crap and needs to be overhauled. It is boring, repetitive and uneventful.
2.) The mini-game training games are absolute garbage and just need to go and disappear into a black hole.
3.) The Online World Championship mode is really where this game could have excelled, which is why this is such a nut-punch. First of all the matchmaking process takes to long which is unacceptable in this generation. If you do not either purchase points, boost or take about 20 matches with opponents who are rated well over yourself you can not build a decent boxer. I jumped into this game mode after about 50 online ranked matches and was rudely welcomed by three matches with people well over my own rating. I am a winning boxer on ranked but I got SMASHED on this mode. Totally no chance. I had to look online to find out you cannot take a match over your rank or you will lose. The whole idea of allowing players to buy points is garbage. The OWC is easily the worst part of the game.
4.) The judging is absolutely awful. No real way to describe this, it just needs to be seen to be believed.
This game needs a total revamp in 2013 but knowing EA it will be the same game with a new coat of paint. I am very disappointed.
