Same old issues on a otherwise great game

I've been a fan of the fifa games since the 90s. This is a great offering again from EA with the graphics and presentation being the best yet. The gameplay is the same as it has always bee, however the same faults that have plagued fifa for years remain.

The issue I have and other may agree with me are the gameplay itself. For instance I have always felt that the CPU wants to help you way too much. Making runs to chase a ball that's going to go for a corner to you yet it chases after it and touches it just on the line to give the CPU a goal kick. Auto switching is dire, constantly giving you the wrong player and to select the one you do want requires tapping L1 several times. With auto switching it forever changes to a player just as your previous player you wanted to slide tackle meaning your new player slides randomly and leaves the CPU to continue to attack.

Heading the ball is a complete lottery, not usually one where you maybe win. More like you stick a quid on a lucky dip to find you we're given 1,2,3,4,5,6 and you are never gonna win with those.

Sprinting has always been the biggest bug for me. You can sprint fine to catch a player with the ball and try to take it from him. Yet as soon as you have the ball you will never, ever safely break away from the clutches of a CPU defender. Unless you're Ronaldo. This can get very very annoying.

Tackling is just as much a lottery as heading. There are times you can defend like the Arsenal of old and then you can be like jolting statues that would be better suited on the set of Doctor Who than at Anfield.

If you're a fan, you will buy it to carry on your love affair with the beautiful game. Yet I guarantee that you will find these frustrations the same as me. So much so that you consider selling the damn thing.

This game is great, but surely EA must sort out this issues to accompany its already brilliant graphics, sound and lifelike approach. And I haven't even mentioned the freezing issues yet.

Try before you buy I say.
