The last time I played a soccer game was FIFA 09. After beggining FIFA 12 i can see the series has come along way in a few short years. The first thing that stands out is the impeccable presentation. The menus are stylish and well designed, the players and teams are all present, the manager mode is well layed out and there are many other extras stuffed into the game. Everything can be tweked to your liking from the gameplay to the career to the weather conditions for a particular game.
The manager mode is where I have spent the majority of my time and it is very well realised. Transfers are really satisfying to pull off as you can't con the computer into bad deals. Managing the teams physical and mental sides is alse very involving.
On the pitch the game is slower than previous entries thanks to weightier player and ball controls and the new defensive system. Defense now requires some patience and stretegy rather than just rushing at the player with the ball. On the attacking end you have a great variety of moves and control over your players and it is as satisfying as ever to pull off the perfect setup before netting a goal. The game is still not perfect however; the A:I rarely makes well timed runs for the ball and just feels a little slow to react, this makes offense occasionaly frustrating. There are also some glitches with the player impacts but these dont hinder the enjoyment.
In summary if you have any interest in soccer don't hesitate in packing up this comprehensive package. There is so much gaming value here its not funny. The presentation and graphics are superb and the on field and off field aspects of the game will remain engadging well into next year.
