Despite all of the hype, Fifa 12, in my opinion, is not the best game in the series ...
The Good- The visuals in Fifa 12 are better than any other Fifa game such as the face visuals and I think they are a great improvement on any of their previous games as the player faces now look more authentic and look like they have been made with more precision and detail. Also the overall game graphics (visuals) have been improved as well and the new-improved graphics allow the game to give off a better atmosphere to the player, however this good atmosphere can be spoiled by aspects that I will go over on the 'The Bad' section.
The game feels as if it offers you more attacking options and it feels more satisfying when you score a goal (however I do think there should be a lot more crowd reaction when you score) . The tackling feels like it has more to it (however there is alot of bad things to go over about the tackling) and the tackling does feel like it was intended to add more depth to the tackling system that was in the previous Fifa games such as in previous Fifa games you found yourself just holding down A or B to get the ball.
The dribbling feels alot smoother and easier to do (especially against A.I.) so you wont encounter huge amounts of stress trying to get past opponents, however the dribbling is alot easier because of just hard defending is in the game. The physical side of Fifa 12 looks impressive most of the time as it looks like there is a real tussle to get the ball in the game and the referee's are not really soft in the game which is satisfying as they don't blow there whistle too often which pleased me.
The Bad- The defending in this game is just so hard and in many ways very poor as it is extremely difficult to get the ball most of the time as it is so easy to get away from the defender when they press B to tackle and not come out with the ball. Also the A.I. can just walk through your defence with pure ease as they turn your defenders and do little tricks to get past and sometimes you feel like you don't have a chance to even get the ball as you cannot even get close to the ball and slide tackling is still very unpredictable as you still don't know (like in Fifa 11) how your player is going to slide in to get the ball. The marking is also appalling as your defenders usually don't stay with the attacker they are supposed to mark and leave them free in the box which costs you as you concede a goal. sometimes the defenders act as if the attacker isn't even there which really annoys me as in real life your defence should be aware of the attackers all of the time.
The A.I. is awful especially goalkeepers as they make silly mistakes and decisions. The game is very glitchy aswell as the physics engine screws up very often, so when players fall over lets just say... it just looks stupid.
The shots can be very awful too sometimes as when you sometimes put alot of power into the shot, the shot sometimes still keeps grounded and just rolls and has no real power to it and can be quite dreadful. The ball movement and game play is still quite sluggish and the ball seems very heavy for a ball as it moves very slow and hovers alot in the game even if you maximise power.
However because of the size of the review, I cannot go into full detail in this review and I am sorry for that.
Fifa 12 is a overrated game for me and I feel that the game doesn't encourage you to play more and despite improved visuals, I think the game is still a 6.5/10 as the game play is very stressful and annoying and the game could be improved alot.
I think Fifa 11 was better (personal opinion) but Fifa 12 still has some good features in the game however judging on my experience of the game im going to give the game an average score of 6.5/10 and thank you for reading my review :D.
