Get the lowdown on FIFA 10's Ultimate Team feature in this walk-through video.
Have to agree with most people here. Although the concept of Ultimate Team is fairly innovative, its delivery is both irresponsible and shameless on EA's part -- last year you basically either had to devote all of your time to it or buy packs of cards on a daily basis to keep your team in shape. The problem is that it's an addictive and fun game mode to play and, whilst nobody's putting a gun to your head to make you spend your money, you shouldn't have to pay anything beyond your initial £45/$60 outlay to play it (I'd much rather EA revamp/fix manager mode as promised). EA's business 'strategy' is clearly: "If they pay more, we can charge more." If only they spent a tenth of what they do marketing their games into actually developing them then they might strike an acceptable balance.
if you guys watch and follow REAL LIFE football (soccer), you would know that trading players between clubs plus additional money within the deal is acceptable. that feature is in ultimate team. my point was, why dont EA put that in the manager mode. instead they try to milk us of all the money by releasing it as DLC. if you are a dlc whore then please go ahead and keep spending extra money, but looking at this from a consumer point of view, many features are missing from fifa games but EA holds back all for the sake of dlc profits.

@mos182 what has this got to do with Manager Mode??
I didn't buy this add on last year and will probably not buy it this year. I would feel better if the add-on was good for 2 editions of FIFA, at that point I could see my self buying it. But paying $60 for the game and then $5 here $10 there is ridiculous. These features should have been included in the original release.
Why would they add this mode, which isn't that realistic to MM which is supposed to be realistic?
@sirmourinho - I certainly agree, especially with the "double-tax" system where they'll be looking for you to buy booster packs as well as pay for the add-on.
why is it so hard for them (EA) to just add this to the manager mode. trading players etc should be included in manager mode in the game itself. as well as he other features ultimate team has. this DLC stuff is just stupid. another reason to show that EA just want money and no customer satisfaction.
