Finally, the culmination of 4 years hard work by EA sports, oh and it's fantastic.

User Rating: 10 | FIFA 10 PS3
FIFA 10 is the pinnacle of what a football game should be like. Having got it today, I have already played it to death (and started a manager mode with the mighty Leyton Orient). The journey has been long since FIFA 07 (I bought pes6 instead that year) to transfer the juggernaut footy series on next gen consoles. EA have said they have made some major improves but many smaller ones, and the mixing of these together makes for a truly outstanding game that truly improves on last years brilliant effort.

The only comparison I will make between fifa 10 and pes 2010 is to do with 360 degree dribbling (I played the pes demo). All i can tell you is that it feels vastly more accomplished on fifa 10. The movement is natural and extremely life-like, copmpared to pes' attempt which feels as though they have just slung it in to try and keep the pace on fifa.

The gameplay is intense and highly fluid, and importantly for me, playing with real madrid now means that you don't feel the necessity to eat your own face like you did last year when they played like a 3 star team despite being rated 5 stars. (and for your info that wasn't me being crap as im reasonably good). The passing is orgasmic and the heading seems more realsitic, the players now don't hang in the air for what feels like an eternity. slide tackling is immense and a lot more controlled and immersive, you know when your intent in fifa 09 was to slide and hook the ball away and istead your player pummeled through the back of the oppositions legs. my only gripe is that you give away more soft fouls my sticking a leg in but i will just have to get used to that. Finishing feels great and is the most satisfying way possible to bring a successful end to a lovely attacking move.

The features available are also excellent with an improved manager mode (they say) which I haven't really delved into and the ability to play matches or practice corners in the arena is another way to wile away precious hours from your life. The teams are all there, from chelsea to malaga to wolfsburg, and the visulas are also pretty damn good but not a massive improvement onlast year, they look rather similar.

Overall, I think Konami's pes 2010 will have to be pretty fly when all polished and ready to keep up with this beast, this GOD of football games. Another outstanding year for fifa and i feel they will finally break that 90/100 barrier on the metactritic score ;)

Thanks guys, Tim
