The PC version of FIFA 09 is not as graphically strong, but packs some interesting features that will appeal to many.

User Rating: 7.5 | FIFA Soccer 09 PC
Every year when another FIFA game is made by EA Sports, veterans of the series have come to expect more. This year, features such as a brand new play mode, some additions to past modes and other little tweaks will keep you satisfied until 2010.

The game modes remain relatively the same besides the new addition of Be A Pro. This new addition allows you to play a few seasons as a professional player of your choice, or one that you create yourself. The mode takes a 3rd person perspective, and allows to call for balls and shots, while doing every other thing that you can do in a normal game mode. Manager mode remains relatively the same besides some minor polishing and new options when you make pre-season friendlies. Aswell as this there is a new Adidas Live Season feature that updates the stats of the players based on their weekly performance, but you only get one league free and if you want others you will have to pay extra. The game also allows you to control with controller keyboard, or with mouse and keyboard. There are various playing options such as difficulty and goalie difficulty.

Along with these options you are also given many graphical options. These will let you fine tune your graphics so that they can work well on your computer. However, the gameplay will never look as good as one of the console games. That being said, cut scenes seem to look better than console versions. Even with some graphical weaknesses player models look fantastic, with each player looking very close to what they look like in real life.

Finally there are the games sounds. SFX is relatively unchanged and gives you the basics of what you come to expect from a FIFA game. Commentary is good, with some new lines, but mostly sticks to what there was last year. Also a fully licensed soundtrack with lots of music from around the world is featured, though not all of this music is entirely appealing.

Basically the same FIFA has returned this year. Some minor improvements make it abit cooler, but generally this game will only appeal to veterans of the series. A 7.5 out of 10.
