What DO you expect from Fifa 08 ? Great graphics or terrible AI ?
The first impressions of the game is good,and the somewhat-poor textures could have been overlooked.The commentary team is the same as before,with Andy Gray and Clive Tyledsly still screaming for the goals and making the game life-like.The new features of this game are:Now you can controll the 'keeper yourself when not in possession of the ball,making it sometimes difficult and sometimes easier for the opponent to score.The manual through balls and crosses do make the gameplay a bit more complicated,but scoring goals through these are all the more satisfying.You can now controll only one player in the game while the CPU controlls all the rest in Be-A-Pro mode.
The stadiums look crisp and some new player-animations make this game one to look out for.
The drawbacks:There is nothing much new in this game,with the player's movements not looking sharp at all !The gameplay looks repetative after a couple of tournaments.Suddenly the CPU's AI get killer and you'll find it difficult to beat Newcastle United playing with Manchester United.Cool,uh ?Well,not actually.
I say rent the game first before buying it,or you'll see Derby County winning the Barclays Premier League,with Reading coming second.
