Watch the Wii U Press Conference!

Nintendo's reveals the launch date and price for its upcoming system.
There has not been major innovation in the industry hardware wise since the Dreamcast. 32gb! hard drive In the age of Digital Content. FAIL.
Nintendo has failed officially I love their IP but this is a major misstep for them.
Strongest launch in Nintendo's history?! Sorry Mr. Reggie, shovelware doesn't count! :P
Forget the library of ports and mini-games, but am I alone in thinking the graphics are worse than current gens?
No digital store again? Current gens are selling with 250/320 GB HD and Nintendo is selling a deluxe version with the HD of a cell phone...
I love you Nintendo :-P you guys show me the way of gaming went I was like 6 years old now am 26 :-P NINTENDO FOREVER!
In the "launch window" there are maybe 3 games I'd buy. Almost every third-party game not already released is a stereotypical Nintendo game (games for a younger audience or casual audience). The few first-party titles don't interest me either. The "core games" like Batman and Darksiders II (not to mention the terrible Ninja Gaiden 3. Why did they even advertize that?) aren't a big pull to core gamers because they will have been able to play those games for quite a while before WiiU's launch and with their choice of platform.
I'm also a bit worried about their unwillingness to reveal the core components, and their use of phrases like "HD ready" and "most advanced graphics for a Nintendo console." All live demos I've seen on the Wii hardware shows an AT BEST current gen level of rendering power.
Unlike with the Wii, I'm going to wait a few years for a price drop and for a good look at their extended catalog so I can avoid another case of one-game-a-year-itis like I suffered with the Wii.
I can see great potential with the Wii U.
However I am not impressed with the current games at launch though so will be sitting on the fence for now. The only games that interested me was Mario and Aliens colonial marines. Hopefully new future games will allow the Wii U to shine.
Games that will help Nintendo get Wii U sales is COD and Mario. If sales rocket and some great current/future AAA games get released on the platform then I will look into buying the console. Prices for both consoles are good.
Omg lol..... The kid in the Mario hat at the beginning? I'm sure I will be seeing him on youtube or something soon, Looping over and over to music. Probably Dubstep...
I know... Has nothing to do with the conference. Sorry, I just couldn't get it out of my head.
Personally, I wasn't impressed at all. Their lineup of games is below average. I believe that many gamers are waiting for a new super mario 64 type of game to be released instead of another super mario bros wii. Microsoft and Sony are going to have a field day when they come out. Nintendo needs to step up their game.
@jose2390 I agree. I'm a fan of Mario but this new Super Mario Bros U looks like Super Mario Wii, but not as great. No Zelda on launch date, no Killer Instinct. Only 3 games really interest me so far and as someone stated here there may be 4 games for a more mature audience and the rest is just rehash of dumb party games for kids but in HD. This was a launch date purchase for me, but I don't want to take the guess and go buy it, and then having Nintendo wait another year to release an interesting game for adults. That would leave me with what, Mario U / Zombie U to play with until they finally release Zelda in December 2013? And then what, another 2 years for a Star Fox?
@jose2390 this is one of the more rare launchs where there are so many good games and some new ones as well
I would like to point one thing out..... Deep Breath. Next gen or not, Nintendo had the balls to release a new console at a time when gaming is controversial, demanding, and otherwise cutthroat... this may destroy them.... but why would anyone want that? bracing for impact...
@translucent17 When Xbox 360 first came out many of the games were current gen Ps2 games and that made people start saying "oh its just slightly stronger than Ps2". Looking back on that now.......its safe to say Xbox 360 is a lot stronger than Ps2. People are doing that exact same thing to WiiU now. As Technology advances old chips dont get produced anymore(at least not for new products), so even if current gen games get released on WiiU that does not mean WiiU is the same strength as current gen consoles. It just means the developers havent caught up yet to make next Gen games yet.....
Its really good priced. The basic bundle at $300 is really good considering it also includes a high speed HDMI cable. I will for sure pre-order the Premium, $50 more for 4x the memory and a free game, charging cradle and a stand is worth it. I will buy an SD HC card though. I will probably need 60GB atleast.
Is Wii U going to have some good harcore games? Or will it just be kiddie stuff like the wii?
@natanaj have you seen their launch window??? its a large amount of hardcore third party games and some first party.
@dragonred400 @natanaj there hardcore 3rd party games are mostly crap. Ninja Gaiden 3? crap. Darksiders 2? it's already out. Don't tell me Lego games are hardcore. I haven't seen a zelda/metroid/resident evil/silent hill/metal gear game, not even a freaking Mario Kart or a Mario game in 3D like Mario 64.
@SLAMMIN23 You could either use a Wii-mote with Nunchuk, or a classic controller pro. They also made a completely new Wii-U pro controller which is more like an xbox 360 controller, if you want you can see a picture of it just by searching on google.
activision is a disgrace, those games looks like wii graphics and the game play looks horrible
there is a good chance that alot of studios are not taking the wii U seriously that doesnt make it a bad console it just sucks because nintendo needs that support if they want this to work
@translucent17 i actually is thinking about picking the $350 day one. But Nintendo need to get their act together. if this is the console that you want to draw hard-core gamers back, stop showing games like skylanders, wipeout 3.... it goes against everything they are trying to do.
@xolivierx @translucent17 well, with Nitendo, is no surprise with family friendly games, and i am cool with that. Games that i can play with my daughters, train them young into the video game world while i can also get some hard-core games on my own time is a win win machine... i can not do that with 90% of my PS3 games.
@translucent17 @aldronlin french would be ''chié''...most games being released are for kids.
very true... pardon my french but i almost shi#t myself when I saw that wipeout nonsense earlier.......
@Nibraybirk omfg I know right? what were they thinking? they look like Ds games....
dude I have been following this all day.... to the people that say its 6 year old tech can I come over and try your wii u out?? Or is it that you dont have one cause it's not out yet?? I cant believe that there are so many experts on a system that honestly knowone knowz anything about . I will be the first to say that I have no Idea what to expect, BUT i would like to think it would be a fun system... either way saying shit that you cant back up is giving everyone a headache....
