Much like Blade, Captain Sawada exists outside of traditional SF continuity. In Capcom's disappointing Street Fighter film, this modern day samurai character appeared as Colonel Guile's right-hand man in the UN Special Forces. He also appeared in the US Street Fighter cartoon where he took control of the division after Guile left to join the Street Fighter organization. He only appeared in the home versions of the Street Fighter The Movie game.
