Birdie is an English punk-bar bouncer who aspires to join the Shadowlaw organization. He was first seen as a contestant in the first Street Fighter tournament, and he now makes his move in the Street Fighter Alpha series. Back in the original Street Fighter, Birdie had the closest thing to combos with a sequence of charging hits that knocked your life bar down in a few seconds. He's a large man with a hard head and great strength. His favorite attack is his lunging head butt, but he's very vulnerable to most rising attacks, like the dragon punch. While slow-witted, he is not inherently an evil person. He is unaware of Shadowlaw's intents, and only wants to join to prove his strength.

Birdie is also very proficient at overhead strikes, able to move very quickly despite his great size. Many of his victories arise from ignorant opponents who think they can out-maneuver him. He carries a long chain with him at all times, and woe to those who get caught in his Chain Slam! A few hits from this power grab will defeat any opponent.
