Aidyn Chronicles: First Mage
Aidyn Chronicles: First Mage developers have taken on a hefty chore. They plan to release the first "true" RPG for the Nintendo 64. Now, we've seen a couple of RPGs on the system, such as THQ's Quest 64 and even Natsume's Harvest Moon 64, but neither contained the scope nor the epic presence serious RPG fans hope for and, in fact, require.
THQ has different plans for Aidyn Chronicles. With H2O Entertainment's Chris Klug (original Dragon Quest pen-and-paper game designer) at the helm, the developers are creating a game that places you in control of Alaron, a young guy on a quest to discover his lineage. With a battle system that developers liken to that of Parasite Eve's, and a fully 3D gameworld the same liken to Zelda, the company is building high hopes. We went to the game's creators to get an inside peek at the work in progress, which is expected to be released on the N64 some time this spring.
