Red and pink Yoshis like apples, green Yoshis like watermelons, yellow Yoshis prefer bananas, and blue and light blue Yoshis love grapes. If a Yoshi eats his favorite fruit, that fruit is worth three points each, a nonfavorite fruit is worth one point. Melons are favored by every color of Yoshi and are worth an amazing 103 points apiece. One thing makes Yoshis happier than anything else: finding the special hearts. Hidden within each level are three big red hearts. Collecting these hearts is what unlocks levels two, three, and four on the pages in story mode. This guide shows the exact location of every one of the game's 72 hearts. Good luck and have fun! General Tips Sniffing is a major tool for Yoshi, especially for finding coins. If you find a dog nearby, sniff. If you see a sign that points nowhere, sniff. At points midway between two walls or blocks, sniff. You'll see Yoshi's sniffing intensify as he gets closer to a secret. When Yoshi yelps, stomp! Don't give up if you miss a jump. Yoshi's hovering skill can usually get him back up to a missed platform. To get the highest score in each level, get all the hearts and coins you can. Plus, collect 30 lime melons in each level.
