Mario enters the third dimension.

Now we all have played Mario bros. before, but never like this. In Mario 64 you can go in any direction you want. It basically is a world in a box, and you guide Mario through his world.
The ultimate goal in Mario 64 is the same as all other Mario games: to save Princess Toadstool from the evil Bowser. To do this you must collect at least 70 power stars.
Power stars can be found in the 15 levels of the game. Each level has six courses, and in each course there is a star. There are 120 stars in the game - 105 of them can actually be found in the levels themselves, and the other fifteen are hidden throughout the castle.
As in previous Mario games, you will face Bowser three times, with each time getting progressively harder.
There are several other bosses that you must face, and this guide explains how to beat them all.

These courses can be scrolled through using the image map above. However, we recommend you go through the courses in the order they are listed in. Note also that the image map includes a link to the secret stars (foreground ceiling), the switch palaces (foreground floor), and the three Bowser Levels (far right).
