Platinum members of Club Nintendo in Japan will receive a Revolution controller...sort of. It's really a TV remote, which is a nice response to the ribbing the company took when the controller was first shown.

Supposedly it's the Saving Private Ryan of video game movies, if you believe one online script reader. The gory descriptions of the action makes the movie sound even more intense than the game, though.

Is it a manufactured marketing gimmick, or a real shortage? We're going with, a little from column A and a little from column B. You might have to line up somewhere to get one on day 1, but more than likely, you should be able to find one at some point before Christmas.

Another from the viral marketing pile: information gleaned from the new Splinter Cell website supposedly paints an insidious picture of our favorite stealth hero. Robbing banks? Menacing civilians? What's the deal?

An elaborate ruse or plot element? >>
The gameplay overhaul is definitely alienating existing customers, making it easier to become Jedi, and eliminating some professions. The real-time combat mechanics and more quest-driven leveling should attract more new players though.

At least, that's what the publisher is betting on... >>
