Annah
Planescape: Torment
Planescape: Torment's Annah wasn't exactly a conventional female game character. First, she spoke with a distinctive Scottish accent provided by pop singer Sheena Easton. In addition, Annah wasn't even human - she was a "tiefling," the result of an unholy union between a human and a demon. That's why she had a very long and conspicuous tail (that would lash to and fro as her mood worsened) and a very short and even more conspicuous temper. Her monstrous lineage and her lifelong profession as a thief and a collector - one who gathers corpses from the streets of the city of Sigil and sells them to the mortuary - were more than enough reason for her to be surly and completely distrustful of others. And a lifetime in the Hive - the perilous slums of Sigil - had taught her to keep her unusual (and razor-sharp) punch-daggers close at hand at all times.

Yet even though Annah had every reason to be petty and self-serving, she wasn't. Instead of moping about and feeling sorry for herself, Annah fought to survive and used her stealth abilities to sneak into dark, dangerous alleys that other collectors were too afraid to explore. She was tough and street-smart and never backed down from a fight. And when she did join your forces, she was an excellent party member and a stalwart companion in battle. Since Annah was a multiclassed fighter/thief, she could wade into a fight in the front lines or hide in the shadows and use her powerful backstab attack. She could also use her thieving skills to pick pockets (to increase the party's funds), detect harmful traps, and scout out new areas while hidden.

But Annah wasn't just a useful party member. Though she'd normally be cursing a blue streak or threatening to impale Morte, every so often, you'd get a glimpse of what sort of character she really was beneath her bitter, angry exterior. Annah proved that though she was smart enough not to show it, she was a valuable ally not only because she was good in a fight, but also because she was loyal and trustworthy - both to her foster father Pharod and to your character, the Nameless One.
She's a sophisticate and a femme fatale
