Team Fortress Classic is the first
official mod for Half-Life to be released, and it comes from none other
than Half-Life's designers, Valve Software. Originally created and released
for Quake, Team Fortress is,as the name implies, a team-based game involving
several game elements spread across six maps and involving up to nine character
classes.
While deceptively simple on
the surface, Team Fortress Classic is a deep, strategic game that rewards
teamwork, communication, and planning. With different objectives for each
map, tons of strategies for each class, Team Fortress Classic is a rewarding
experience for those that take the time to master the subtleties... and
that's what this guide is all about.
By the time you've consumed
the information contained here, you'll be more than prepared to lead your
team to a commanding victory, coordinating effective offensive units,
and setting up an impenetrable defense. Further, we'll cover each map
in detail and clearly explain the strategies for each as well as what
makes the best compliment of classes, depending upon how many players
are involved. Think the engineer is a weak character class with an uninspiring
shotgun? Think again. Don't know how to play the spy effectively? By the
time you've finished this guide, James Bond will look up to you as a hero.
So sit back, take notes, and prepare to take your Team Fortress Classic
abilities to the ultimate level!
