Spathi Concerns

After war is declared with the Crux, you receive a distress call from the Spathi. Go to their home colony and try to calm them down. They then announce that they are leaving the League. Don’t threaten them, as it lowers League morale, but work on their conscience every time you encounter them. Eventually, they will become your "spies" and deliver information on Crux happenings.

Syreen Psychic Emanations

The Orz will inform you that the Syreen are manipulating the League races telepathically. Your tech team will confirm the Orz accusations. Go to the Syreen home colony and confront them. They tell you that it is protection from an unknown evil. Trust them and have them continue.

The Exquivan

The Exquivan are a strange race as they are trying to purge all sentience from themselves (the Exquivan call this state "Nothingness of the Mind") in order to escape the onslaught of the Eternal Ones. When you first encounter them, they will attack you, as a test. Eventually, you must convince them to stop their attack on your ships, and offer them membership in the league. They won’t join, but they will stop attacking you and will observe your fleet to see if you are worthy allies.

Chmmr Bifurcation

A few weeks after war is declared, you are met by the Daktaklakpak who claim the Chmmr are causing all the problems and that they have the ability to summon the dreaded Eternal Ones. The Daktaklakpak say the only way to stop them is to split them back into the Chenjesu and the Mmrnmhrm. Agree to take the Bifurcator from them, but do not turn it on. If you turn it on and go to the Chmmr colony, you will split them apart. Several days later you receive a distress call from the Chmmr, and find out that the Crux have another Bifurcator and used it on the Chmmr. Now the Chenjesu are in a coma and the Mmrnmhrm are in pieces. Take both of them with you. You won’t be able to rejoin them until later in the game.

The Ultron

The Utwig’s all-knowing Ultron predicts that the VUX are not loyal to the League. Go to the VUX colony and confront them with the information. They, of course, deny all knowledge of involvement. Several days later, you get an urgent distress call from the Utwig. They tell you that their precious Ultron has been stolen (sound familiar?) As a result, all Utwig colonies’ production drops dramatically. They give a loose description of the thief that points to the VUX. Confront the VUX with the evidence. Guess what their response is. Yes, they deny any involvement. You then hear from the Arilou. They tell you that the Pkunk are sensitive to the Ultron’s eminations, and suggest that they might be able to help you. The Pkunk tell you that the Ultron is somewhere in the Erato system. Go to the system, and defeat the VUX renegades that are in the system. Since the Ultron is indestructible, it won’t be destroyed in the battle. Retrieve the Ultron from the wreckage, and return it to the Utwig. When the Utwig discover that the Ultron is broken, they refuse it and want you to fix it. Take the Ultron to the Pkunk and ask for their advice. They tell you that in order to repair the Ultron, you need several Precursor artifacts: the Ivory Sheath, the Marble Flange, and the Plate Crystal. Combining these artifacts with the Ultron will fix it. Take it back to the Utwig. Again they reject it. Promise to fix it again.

Pkunk Problems

After the 3rd system is destroyed, the Pkunk become unproductive. Go to the Syreens and ask them what to do. They tell you that the psychic eminations coming from the Exquivo are harming the Pkunk. Go to the Exquivo and ask them to stop. The Exquivo claim that they aren’t doing anything. Eventually, your tech team discovers that the eminations are coming from the wreckage of a crashed ship on the Exquivo colony planet. The ship has a semi-sentient computer that is crying out in pain, being kept alive by its data pack. The cries are what hurts the Pkunk. Remove the data pack, thereby ending both the computer’s and the Pkunk’s suffering. Do not analyze the data pack, as it contains information that will destroy your ship.
