Sound Byte: Meet the Composer - Tommy Tallarico
Meet the man behind Video Games Live and win a VGL soundtrack or Blu-ray!
Tommy Tallarico is a very busy man, but we had the opportunity to catch up with him earlier this year and talk about his success with Video Games Live, as well as his other projects, including the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.). A prolific video game music composer, Tommy Tallarico got his start during the early '90s when he decided to just pack up and move to Los Angeles. If you haven't had a chance to see Video Games Live yet, be sure to check out the website for tour dates. The concert series has been all over the world and features live video game music performed by an orchestra with synchronized gameplay footage and lighting effects. We have several copies of the soundtrack, as well as the Blu-ray Disc for Video Games Live Level 2, so follow Sound Byte on Twitter @gs_soundbyte for your chance to win!

"Videogames music becomes the soundtrack of your life." So true.
@XaK2 - Hah, well if VGL comes to San Francisco I'll definitely be there!
Sound Byte should do a contest where if you win, you get to go to VGL with Sophia or something...
His story is inspiring, as is his music.
I'm jealous of you guys, I have the Blu-ray--which is absolutely awesome--but have yet to attend a video games live concert. I remember watching Tom back on the old G4 as well, he seems like a cool guy who just loves video game music as much as the rest of us die hard fans.
I've been to VGL twice, and given the chance I'd go again in a heart beat. So much fun. Tommy is amazing! I actually had the pleasure of meeting him and Jack Wall the first time I was at VGL. Awesome guys doing some amazing things in the video game industry. I'm glad there are other people out there that love game soundtracks as passionately as I do.
Thanks to Judgement Day on G4, the only thing he makes me and my friend think of is how he always talked about puttting the controller down his pants.
I actually *performed* in VGL about 5 years ago in Houston; I was part of the chorus. It was a fun to practice the music and Tommy definitely helped make the whole entire peformance fun for the audience. Rock concert atmosphere but with a symphony. :-)
Tommy Tallarico is great. Love this guy... he used to crack me up when we was reviewing games on The Electric Playground back on the original G4 network (I think it was TechTV then...?) Can't wait to see VGL when it comes to my area...
Saw them in New Orleans. Absolutely amazing. I can die a happy man knowing I've seen One-Winged Angel live.
I saw VGL in Minnesota, and it was AMAZING!
saw video games live 2 years ago and loved it!
VGL is freakin' awesome! Great interview, Sophia!
