Welcome back to the stage of history. Our SoulCalibur V walkthrough gets you started for combat with new tactics, unlockables, and character moves.

Basic Changes: SoulCalibur V is a different beast from IV and you'll want to know the fundamentals

What's New:

February 7 2012: Version 1.3. Xiba's section has been added, along with an update to ZWEI.
February 3 2012: Version 1.2. Added a page for Aeon and updated the Unlocks section. ZWEI's video will be up soon as well.
February 2 2012: Version 1.1. The sections for Pyrrha and Leixia have been added, along with some missing info about Just Guard and Quick Step.
January 31 2012: Version 1.0. The guide goes over basic changes and how to unlock characters. We've also included info about Patroklos, ZWEI, Viola, Ezio, and Devil Jin. Check back soon for info and videos for Natsu, Xiba, Leixia, Pyrrha, and Aeon. Seriously, videos help more than text and static images.

Kurtis Seid is a sadomasochist for games. He’s clocked over 200 days in a Final Fantasy entry but isn’t sure if he’s actually a fan of the series. His ideal game would somehow involve the harshest elements of King’s Quest, Team Fortress, River City Ransom, Ogre Battle, and Dark Souls.

Hello Kurtis, (or anyone else out there listening to help; the more the merrier!)I am playing Soul Calibur V (SCV) on my XBOX 360 and I have a question about Quick Battle, if I may.I only have 2 titles left on page 9 and 21 left on page 10. I have found all the names/titles but ONE for the two left on page 9. One of them is an Al Gol character and the other has yet to reveal itself. I have discovered how to narrow my search field to reveal all of page 10's characters. I still don't know how to find the 24th character for page 9. Ideas?

That reach vs power thing is crap... Makes all Natsu's and Devil Jin's potentially extremely overpowered because their reach is already next to none.

Playing as dampierre it's not like you're missing out on much and its not like you're not missing out on much, well except for a few good laughs. Hes very funny. His style is tricky to learn and difficult to master but the good thing from what I gather is to your enemy you're pretty much unpredictable. None the less hes an interesting character.

@btkOne he's preorder DLC from Best Buy. He may be purchasable later, much like Vader and Yoda. Yes, you'll have to pay money for on-disc content.

how do i unlock dampierre ? i won against him in quick fight mode, but didnt get him as a playable character

@GamingGuru512 Ezio can be selected from the start of the game. However, you can't give his fighting style to created characters.

First version of the guide is up. We've got videos for Pat, and static stuff for ZWEI, Viola, Ezio, and Devil Jin. We'll be updating soon as motion and videos are more helpful.
