Cheat Codes
The SimCity line of games is famous for its collection of cheat codes, and SC3K is no exception. There are a fair number of SC3K codes already available, and more may be revealed on as time goes by.
Even though you may be tempted to try out these codes right away, we recommend that you "just say no" to cheats, at least at the outset. SC3K is a well-balanced game. You generally won't need these codes to stay afloat.
Still, once you've got a fair amount of city-building under your belt, you may be in the mood to change the rules a bit. That's when you unleash one of the many codes revealed here.
Codes Gallery
To enter a cheat code, press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C at the same time. In the Cheat box that appears, you can type in the following codes and get their corresponding results.
garbage in, garbage out
Type this one in to make all the garbage-related buildings available, regardless of the year.
i am weak
This potent (though somewhat humiliating) code makes utilities, transportation, zoning, and most other things you can build cost nothing.
let's make a deal
Turn this on and your neighbors will try to make deals with you.
pay tribute to your king
Type in these five words to get access to all reward and opportunity buildings.
power to the masses
Enter this code to unlock all the power plants, regardless of the year.
salt on
This powerful code turns the sea to salt water.
salt off
As you might expect, this code transforms the sea to fresh water.
terrain one up
Type this code to raise all your terrain by one unit.
terrain one down
Enter this code to lower all your terrain by one unit.
WARNING
If you plan to raise or lower all your terrain via cheat codes, it's best to do so at the outset - you'll destroy any buildings you've created in the process. |
terrain ten up
This one raises all your terrain by ten units.
terrain ten down
And this code lowers all your terrain by ten units.
water in the desert
This simple phrase will unlock all the water structures, regardless of the year.
call cousin Vinnie
If you type in this code, you'll find a petitioner at your door offering you money. You can take the cash, but if you choose the high road and decline this payola, you get access to one last code: Type zyxwvu in the Cheat box, and you'll be offered the SimCity Castle as reward for your clean living. The Castle boosts aura and surrounding land values, and looks swell, to boot.
