![]() We know how important it is for GameSpot readers to be given a chance to have their voices heard. It's interesting for you to see what other gamers like you prefer to play, but it's also interesting for us to see how our picks compared with yours. This year, there were no big surprises, whether it's because our awards have a subliminal influence on your votes or it's because we all can clearly see which games are the great ones. It's getting harder and harder to choose, too. Each year, so many more good games are released that we have to think back and consider them all. It might be an easier task for readers - after all, even hard-core gamers only buy two or three games per month, and those are usually the great ones - but it means just as much to you; you are the ones that spend your hard-earned money on these costly titles. Game publishers have to be told what we all consider to be a good game - and especially what we all consider to be a classic one. Here are the winners based on your ballots. All of the nominees (except for the most disappointing games) are worth your dollars and a few hours of your playing time - but the winners are, without a doubt, worth much more.
