As the processing power of console systems and PCs converges, it is becoming more common to see games developed for multiple platforms. A number of popular PC games are currently being developed for consoles, including Quake III Arena for the Dreamcast and Unreal Tournament for the PlayStation 2. Occasionally developers also release ports of popular console games, such as Final Fantasy VIII for the PC. Despite these crossovers, the console and PC gaming markets remain largely separate. Gamers who wish to play both kinds of games usually resort to purchasing both platforms or using an emulator such as Bleem, which lets them play console games on their PCs.
This week we asked our editors what console game they would like to see ported to the PC. Vote for your choice in the Instant Poll, and then read on to hear their thoughts. We've also posted your own responses to last week's Question of the Week: What game is most artistic? Finally, don't forget to e-mail ask-the-editors@gamespot.com your thoughts on console games that you would like to see ported to the PC. Your response could appear in next week's feature.
