Times are good for action gamers. Two popular subcategories have recently taken the limelight with a series of well-received releases. Fans of first-person shooters can choose between Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament, and, regardless of the debate, fans will probably be pleased with either one. If you're more interested in squad-based tactical games, you can choose from a variety of recent games such as SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle and Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear. And the fun doesn't stop there. Action gamers are now looking forward to any number of upcoming releases, and if the past is any indication, these games will eclipse their predecessors in almost every respect.
