Games are, at their most basic level, a pastime. One of the marks of an enjoyable game is its ability to distract the player from the outside world. We have all come to the somewhat startling realization after playing a game that a few hours had passed that felt like only minutes. Sometimes games eat away large amounts of time due to extreme difficulty (and the necessity of endlessly replaying certain difficult sections), while other games require time-intensive actions in order for you to advance in level or complete a mission.
