Quake has a good share of cheat codes, which are entered in Console mode. To switch to Console mode, press the ~ key. Type the desired code, press Enter or Return to record it, and then press Esc to return to the game. Come and get 'em:

• GOD - Makes you invincible.
• FLY - Allows you to fly. Press D for up and C for down. (This code is especially handy for finding out-of-the-way secrets you may have missed.)
• IMPULSE 9 - Arms you with all weapons.
• IMPULSE 255: Turns on quad damage
• MAP ExMy - Jump to any level in Quake, where "x" is the desired episode and "y" is the desired level. For example, MAP E1M7 would take you to House of Chthon, the seventh level of the first episode.
• GIVE "weapon" - Adds a particular weapon to your arsenal, where weapon is a number for a weapon code. For example, "GIVE 7" outfits you with the rocket launcher.
• GIVE "item" "amt" - Set ammunition or health points, where item is a letter that represents the item type and amt is the amount. For instance, "GIVE N 125" grants you 125 nails. Maximum ammunition of any type is 255; maximum health is 999.

  N = Nails
  R = Rockets
  C = Energy Cells
