As in most of Quake's opening missions, the only
monsters youll face in the Installation are grunts,
rottweilers, and, new to the registered version,
enforcers. The enforcers carry laser guns, a feature with
both advantages and drawbacks. One drawback is that they
can do more damage than the grunts can do with their
measly shotguns, but the flipside is that their backpacks
provide valuable cell ammo.

Secret Area 1
Just outside of the opening
room, youll come to a large pool of water divided
by a walkway. Stand in the middle of the walkway, turn
left, and notice the section of section of wall which is
jutting out in a triangular fashion. Jump into the water
and swim under this section, which is actually an
overhang. From underwater, look up to see a small opening
leading to a red armor. Below this opening is also a
small tunnel that contains two boxes of nails.
Secret Area 2
At the far end of the walkway
is a room containing the gold key. Grab the key and turn
around. An enforcer will have appeared in an elevated
niche. Take out the enforcer, then look at the sloped
area of the wall to your left. There will be some small
steps leading up. Jump up the steps. When you reach the
top, walk through the center section of the wall (no need
to open any doors, simply step through the wall). In this
alcove you will find 100 health.

Secret Area 3
There is a pool of murky
water beneath the niche where the enforcer appeared in
the gold key room. Drop into the pool and follow either
of the paths around to a small room containing some
healthkits, a box of shells, and a teleporter. The
teleporter will take you back to the entrance of the gold
key room.
Secret Area 4
After going through the
silver door, walk around the stack of metal crates and
press the yellow button. This will open a doorway on the
other side of the stack. (Note the yellow armor in the
cage to your left. This armor will be accessible from
Secret Area 5.) Walk back to the new opening, where you
will see a red arrow pointing to an elevator. Run across
the elevator, and continue running as it begins to
ascend. You'll end up in a small room on the other side.
Turn to your left and hit the wall. A door will open
leading to a corridor with a Quad Damage.

Secret Area 5
Return to the elevator and
ride it up to the next level. When you reach the ramp
leading down, look slightly to the right, where you will
see an opening in the cage. Jump through this opening
onto the boxes, then make your way down to the yellow
armor. You will exit through a similar opening next to
the elevator.
Secret Areas 6 & 7
You will come to a room
filled with enforcers. This room overlooks a huge central
pool of murky water. Jump out of the room and into the
pool. Swim down to the center of the pool floor until you
see a grate. Shoot the grate and a passage will open.
Swim down through the passage. When you reach the bottom,
turn around until you see another grate. Hitting this
grate will open another passage, though it wont be
apparent. Turn around and exit the pool, and you will
find a plethora of items - rockets, a grenade launcher,
nails, and some health kits. If you hit the grate in the
passage as described above, there will also be an open
area containing a Pentagram of Protection.
100 health can be found in an
enclosed area on the pathway encircling the pool near
Secret Area 6.
