ight there is your first hint about the real core
of Dreamworks' striking adventure tale, The
Neverhood. You are clay (Klayman), spontaneously
produced by an absent entity, and trying to
discover your identity, the nature of creation
itself, the right path, and a reason for being,
while attempting to achieve the diabolic
overthrow of the creator. You don't need a PhD in
critical theory to figure out the biblical
allusions in this one. Still, don't go hurrying
for the Book of Genesis or even the Apocrypha if
you want to know how to get through that next
door in the Neverhood - those more earthly
matters have been left to souls like us. So here
are some clues and solutions to help all you
mineral-brained clayfolk. But first, some general
guidance in your quest for higher knowledge. |

Remember that the game has a
built-in hint guide. It is beneath the Venus Fly
Trap room at the beginning of the game. Just
climb down the ladder. |

The hiking back and forth
between areas can be less painful if you use your
spacebar liberally to eliminate the traveling
scenes. |

Many of the puzzles require
that you find like-shaped objects or symbols
elsewhere in the gameworld. When confronted with
an odd object or symbol, try to think first of
where you have previously come upon a one that
corresponds. |

Don't expect any of the
solutions to the puzzles to be the same from game
to game. Things like door and machine
combinations are randomized so that every game
will be different. |
