Your Units Dwarves Warlocks Heron Guards Berserks Bowmen Enemy Units Ghôls Wights Dark Archers Thrall Mauls Fetches Goal Prevent the enemy from blowing up the dam. Walk-through 1. In this defensive scenario, you must protect a fragile dam from demolition. A force determined to let the waters flow will approach you from all sides (yes, even from the reservoir behind the dam). 2. There are many ways to handle this task. (A) Send troops out to disrupt the enemy before they can reach the dam and leave projectile troops on and around the dam to guard against units coming from behind and out of the river. (B) Split your forces in two and swing them from side to side on the dam as the attacks arrive. You will need to leave a line of Bowmen in the middle of the dam in any event, for Wights emerging just in front of the dam. (C) Cluster your troops on the dam and direct your attacks in all directions as enemy units mount the dam. 3. Your style and experience will dictate which approach is right for you. Each has its disadvantages, but all require you to have airtight control of your troops and one eye constantly on the map view for approaching troops. 4. A few general tips. Keep your Dwarves off the dam itself, lest they damage it accidentally. Use your Warlocks extensively (both their fireball and their Confusion Spell) but make sure they aren't too tightly clumped and that none of your units intervene between them and their target. Prevent the Ghôls from piling Satchel Charges along the dam. 5. Generally, you will want to assume your troops' point of view, looking south down the river, but this requires you to watch your map view for rear and flank attacks. 6. Note that waves can come from any direction and that there will be precious little time to rest in between. Whatever you do, don't hurt the dam in your attempts to defend it. 7. All of the early waves will come from the below the dam. Later, some will come from the sides. MAP 8. After a few more waves, watch out behind you, or you'll find a Wight suddenly in your midst. MAP
10. Finally, a mixed force of Thrall and Wights will emerge from the reservoir. Pull your troops to the side of the dam by Retreating and spin your Bowmen around to fire on the Wights before they get too close to the front of the dam. MAP 11. Once you kill the Wights, the Thrall pose no threat and will retreat to the reservoir. You can fire on them if you like, but your mission is already a success. |
