I tried using the Yoshi guide on gamefaqs.com it was useful, but the Yoshis on the runway during the chase are hard to hit, as is the one at the end when you fight the boss. They are hard to see, let alone hit! I got all Yoshis yp to that point, and gave up, for me that kind of ruins the fun of the game.
ALERT! Our revamped walkthrough for Snake Eater will prove most useful on your mission to destroy the Shagohod, once and for all.
Animals & Plants
The stamina meter slowly decreases over time and decreases more rapidly during strenuous activity. As the stamina meter gets low, Snake becomes less proficient with his weapon (aim becomes less steady) and his health wont regenerate as quickly. Replenish Snakes stamina meter by eating food.
A particularly vicious attack can inflict a deeper wound that Snake wont be able to simply regenerate. Use the cure menu when you notice a red line within Snakes health bar. Within the cure menu you can apply various medicines and surgical procedures to mend Snakes wounds or cure ailments.
Keeping your meat supply at maximum isnt a bad idea. Youll always have something in your reserves in case your stamina becomes too low and you need quick refreshment. However, as meat sits in your inventory, it does become rotten. Eating rotten meat negates any benefits to stamina and actually poisons Snake, which adversely affects health.
If you do eat rotten food, you can cure the poison with medicine or force Snake to regurgitate the bad grub. Open the survival viewer. Spin snake around for several seconds. It sounds silly but when you return to the game, Snake--apparently dizzy from all that spinning-- vomits and regurgitates the rotten food. It does cure the poison problem but stamina takes a big hit. Now youll have to go find some better food to replenish Snakes stamina!
Take the time combing areas for food items, especially unguarded areas. Equip your thermal goggles to help you find food. Youll be able to see the heat signature of snakes, or even the distinct outline of certain plants (which add medical items to your inventory). Dont forget to look up into the trees as well. You may find a snake hanging from a branch or some fruit. Shoot the fruit to knock it to the ground.
Preserve certain animal meat by capturing the animal alive instead of slaughtering the creature and picking up the meat. You can also use the Mk22 and its tranquilizer ammunition to knock out small animals like snakes so you can capture them. The meat remains fresh in your inventory since the creature is caged and alive. Use mousetraps found in the game to capture smaller animals. Its also possible to throw caged animals to remove them from your inventory. Toss one at a guard if you need to create a distraction.
Many base areas in the game contain storage structures for the enemies food supply. Here youll find rations, calorie mate, and even instant noodles. These foods are extremely beneficial to your stamina and dont spoil over time (or at least as quickly). If your food reserves are full and you find the enemies food storage, toss out some of your meat and replace it with the rations, calorie mates, and instant noodles.
After collecting the food from the enemies food storage, destroy the structure with TNT. This depletes the enemies food supply and basically causes them to starve. When youre around an enemy, youll hear him mumbling about being extremely hungry. These enemies are now weaker, with less stamina, and basically less perceptive then their well-fed counterparts. You can also take advantage of their hunger by tossing out rotten food. Theyre so hungry theyll eat the rotten food on sight. The resulting sickness creates the distraction youll need to get around the guard.
I am tryng to get the "whale" rank and capture all 48 animals, but can only get 45-47, can anyone help?, I need to know what all the animals are and where to find them?
After playing This game for what seems like the 100th time i noticed there was a climbable tree in Svatagornja west that had a place at the top where you could stand or crouch on, but when i went and restarted the game it wasn't there anymore, if it was I couldn't find it, it seems that there are a few things that are like that, they are there and you notice them, but when you go back to see them later they arfe gone!
Does any one know what the best effective way to stamina kill volgin is?, I have tried the stun guns, there's not emough time and a combo of stun guns and stun grenades, and I only get him half way, then time runs out!
@Padaman How do you get stealth camo?
@JGlascock He Asked, So I Gave Him Both Ways.
It's easier to go thru the game w/ no alerts, there are a few Yoshis that are hard to find, let alone hit!
@PadamanI got it, but I still cant get the cold war camo, but oh well, the stealthcamo is far better than all !btw what did you use for the photo camo in granins office? and... where are the locations of that "legendary snake" the tsukinoko?
@JGlascock for tsukinoko granininy(sp?) gorki south at night. use mousetraps by the closest climbalbe tree to the entry. i'll send you the pic for the photo-camo tomorrow
Thanks bud! I looked on wikia at the cold war camo, since I still can't unlock it, it's not as cool as I thought it would be, but there is a website that has pics of downloadable camo for Snake!
Is the stealth camo unlockable on the 3ds version?, if so, how do you sneak past the scientists when leaving Granins office so they don't cause an alert to go, since the stealth camo is only unlockable with no alerts in the game.
2 more questions, about MGS 3d, how do you get the crocodile cap?, and has the GA-KO uniform been switched for the fruit uniform for 3ds, I could not find the GA-KO unifoem in the northeastern end of the swamp, only the fruit uniform. one last question, what are all the obtainable uniforms and face paints and weapons?
On MGs what is the radio frequency to find TheEnds location on the map/, also what is the set of numbers displayed by the floating figure in the cut scene right before you fight Volgin? (MGS for 3ds).
@JGlascock Little Late, But It Is Not A Codec Frequency, It Is The Konami code, Up Up Down down Left Right Left Right B A. And That Is the Sorrow With A Timer for the C3.
@JGlascock I Havent Exactly Tried It My Self, A Friend Of Mine Said It Worked And He Is Usually A Reliable Source Of Information. Have You Tried It?
