I tried using the Yoshi guide on gamefaqs.com it was useful, but the Yoshis on the runway during the chase are hard to hit, as is the one at the end when you fight the boss. They are hard to see, let alone hit! I got all Yoshis yp to that point, and gave up, for me that kind of ruins the fun of the game.
ALERT! Our revamped walkthrough for Snake Eater will prove most useful on your mission to destroy the Shagohod, once and for all.
Like any good villain, the Shagohod (and Volgin) refuse to stay down. After the cut scene you must battle the Shagohod in a tight circular arena. Arm the RPG-7 and fire rockets at the Shagohod’s treads as EVA circles around the enemy vehicle. When you damage the treads, the Shagohod remains stationary and spins around to expose its vulnerable rear side. Fire rockets at the rear of the Shagohod’s "head" region to inflict damage. Press Up on the D-pad to reload the RPG-7 quickly in between shots. When the Shagohod begins to move again, fire rockets at the treads until Volgin claims it can’t move again. Watch for the vehicle to turn around and expose its weak spot.
Once you have exhausted the Shagohod’s health…it returns again! Volgin uses his power over electricity to revive the Shagohod for another fight. This time EVA plays decoy while you scurry around the arena on foot. In this battle you’re aiming for Volgin, not the Shagohod.
While EVA distracts Volgin, he’s vulnerable. Attack him with the turrets placed along the arena’s perimeter or shoot the Shagohod’s treads with a rocket then lay into Volgin with any weaponry. After a couple successful hits, he’ll ignore EVA and plow the Shagohod in your direction. If you’re in a turret, get out and run to the left or right quickly (and try to stay away from the arena’s edge) or you’ll get slammed by the vehicle. Expect any used turret to get bombarded by the Shagohod.
Flee from the Shagohod until EVA plays decoy again. When you’re under attack, flee to the left or right to avoid the red-colored machine gun fire. Run back and away from the other machine gun fire. When Volgin launches missiles, toss a couple chaff grenades to confuse targeting or you’ll be hit by a powerful missile. As soon as Volgin follows EVA, move to a turret and resume your assault or fire the RPG at the Shagohod’s treads and attack Volgin.
When Volgin says "I’ll grind you into dust!!" he’s about to move straight at you. Run under the Shagohod and between the treads. While still underneath the Shagohod, equip the sniper rifle. After the Shagohod passes overhead, turn around and zoom in on the back of Volgin’s head. Score a successful shot to inflict excellent damage. Reduce Volgin’s health to zero to complete the battle.
I am tryng to get the "whale" rank and capture all 48 animals, but can only get 45-47, can anyone help?, I need to know what all the animals are and where to find them?
After playing This game for what seems like the 100th time i noticed there was a climbable tree in Svatagornja west that had a place at the top where you could stand or crouch on, but when i went and restarted the game it wasn't there anymore, if it was I couldn't find it, it seems that there are a few things that are like that, they are there and you notice them, but when you go back to see them later they arfe gone!
Does any one know what the best effective way to stamina kill volgin is?, I have tried the stun guns, there's not emough time and a combo of stun guns and stun grenades, and I only get him half way, then time runs out!
@Padaman How do you get stealth camo?
@JGlascock He Asked, So I Gave Him Both Ways.
It's easier to go thru the game w/ no alerts, there are a few Yoshis that are hard to find, let alone hit!
@PadamanI got it, but I still cant get the cold war camo, but oh well, the stealthcamo is far better than all !btw what did you use for the photo camo in granins office? and... where are the locations of that "legendary snake" the tsukinoko?
@JGlascock for tsukinoko granininy(sp?) gorki south at night. use mousetraps by the closest climbalbe tree to the entry. i'll send you the pic for the photo-camo tomorrow
Thanks bud! I looked on wikia at the cold war camo, since I still can't unlock it, it's not as cool as I thought it would be, but there is a website that has pics of downloadable camo for Snake!
Is the stealth camo unlockable on the 3ds version?, if so, how do you sneak past the scientists when leaving Granins office so they don't cause an alert to go, since the stealth camo is only unlockable with no alerts in the game.
2 more questions, about MGS 3d, how do you get the crocodile cap?, and has the GA-KO uniform been switched for the fruit uniform for 3ds, I could not find the GA-KO unifoem in the northeastern end of the swamp, only the fruit uniform. one last question, what are all the obtainable uniforms and face paints and weapons?
On MGs what is the radio frequency to find TheEnds location on the map/, also what is the set of numbers displayed by the floating figure in the cut scene right before you fight Volgin? (MGS for 3ds).
@JGlascock Little Late, But It Is Not A Codec Frequency, It Is The Konami code, Up Up Down down Left Right Left Right B A. And That Is the Sorrow With A Timer for the C3.
@JGlascock I Havent Exactly Tried It My Self, A Friend Of Mine Said It Worked And He Is Usually A Reliable Source Of Information. Have You Tried It?
