Elementalist
Resides: Islands,
Mountains
Life: 10
Preferred Magic: Red, Blue
Card Profile: Her deck is loaded
down with spells having fairly high casting costs
and features Elementals (for all four elements)
as well as a number of Walls. You need to get
some anti-creature spells and regeneration
blockers to keep her from inflicting too much
damage. She depends mostly on large creatures, so
if you can destroy her land while rushing at her
with small creatures, you should fare well.
Elvish Magi
Resides: Forests
Life: 6
Preferred Magic: Green
Card Profile: With Untamed Wilds
and Llanowar Elves, the Elvish Magi can build up
his mana supply quickly. If he then pulls out a
Stream of Life, he may end up with more life than
you, and he may well pull a Hurricane to finish
you off. Avoid using flying creatures, as they'll
meet a quick death when going against Giant
Spiders and Winter Blasts. Walls are a good thing
to use to protect yourself while you attack with
midsized, first strike capable creatures and
direct damage.
Enchantress
Resides: Forests
Life: 8
Preferred Magic: Green
Card Profile: Her main goal is to
pull out a Thicket Basilisk with Regeneration and
Lure enchantments and keep it in play, destroying
all of your creatures that don't remain tapped
during her turns. Most of her creatures require
lots of mana to cast, but she does have Wild
Growth and Llanowar Elves to help. You need to
stop her quickly before she gathers steam. Also,
if you can use Tranquillity against her, you'll
put a stop to her enchantments.

Forest
Dragon
Resides: Forest
Life: 12
Preferred Magic: Green
Card Profile: Unlike other dragons,
this one only uses green magic to summon his big
beasties. If you can make a fast deck, you'll
finish him off in short order, especially if you
have flying creatures.

Fungus
Master
Resides: Forests,
Islands
Life: 10
Preferred Magic: Green, Blue
Card Profile: The Fungus Master
would prefer to sit behind his Walls and whittle
away your life with Rods of Ruin and pumped-up
Fungusaurs. You'll want to avoid attacking with
small creatures. Use flying ones instead; he's
defenseless against them.

Guardian of
the Tusk
Resides: Forests, Plains
Life: 10
Preferred Magic: Green, White
Card Profile: His fast deck uses
lots of small creatures like Birds of Paradise to
tear you down quickly while he builds up enough
mana to cast the big ones like Colossus of
Sardia. You can slow him down with flying
creatures early, as well as hit him hard with
midsized creatures before he has the time to
summon the big ones.

Goblin
Warlord
Resides: Mountains
Life: 12
Preferred Magic: Red
Card Profile: Naturally, his deck
is full of low cost goblins, but pumping it up
makes this deck pretty fast. But like most decks
of this type, Pestilence or Earthquake will
pretty much ruin him, along with a Conversion to
shut him down further.

High Priest
Resides: Plains
Life: 11
Preferred Magic: White
Card Profile: Like most fast decks,
the High Priest has lots of weaker creatures to
cast quickly, like Savannah Lions. To make things
interesting, he has three Dingus Egg cards,
Balance, and Armageddon. You'll want to play a
fast deck yourself such as a green deck using
Elves and Birds of Paradise. Avoid the temptation
to use a lot of land, unless you can counter or
destroy the Dingus Egg.

Kiska-Ra -
White Dragon
Resides: Forests,
Islands, Plains
Life: 18
Preferred Magic: White, Blue, Green
Card Profile: Like all dragons,
Kiska-Ra uses a tricolored deck loaded with small
creatures and effects to pump said creatures up.
Since he has almost no high cost spells, land
destruction won't be nearly as productive as with
other creatures that use three colors. While you
overwhelm him with your small to medium
creatures, use a Tranquility card as well as mass
damage and creature destruction cards to finish
him.

Lord of Fate
Resides: Plains, Swamps
Life: 14
Preferred Magic: White, Black
Card Profile: The Lord of Fate can
get pretty brutal quickly with Osai Vultures,
Serra Angels, and both Holy and Unholy Strength.
Your best bet is to use a fast deck with plenty
of anti-artifact and anti-enchantment spells.

Mandurang -
Black Dragon
Resides: Islands,
Mountains, Swamps
Life: 18
Preferred Magic: Red, Black, Blue
Card Profile: His tricolored deck
is built around flying creatures with Unholy and
Giant Strength to pump them up. He'll also hit
you with Carrion Ants and Cursed Land, which will
make short order of you unless you too have a
fast deck. You'll need to have plenty of
anti-flier spells along with a Hurricane or
Winter Blast. Also, Tranquility works very well
against this deck.

Merfolk
Shaman
Resides: Islands
Life: 6
Preferred Magic: Blue
Card Profile: His low life points
may make him relatively harmless, but you need to
watch out for his fast, cheap creatures that can
deal a lot of damage early on. Try using a green
deck, as it will help stop the hemorrhaging his
Lifetap and Magical Hacking will inflict on your
land. You'll want counter his offense with
point-a-turn enchantments and direct damage
spells.

Mind Stealer
Resides: Islands, Swamps
Life: 10
Preferred Magic: Black, Blue
Card Profile: Your first clue about
this adversary's tactics is in the name. He has
the special ability to use your own deck against
you. But don't relax if he chooses to play mostly
from his own deck. He has plenty of spells that
will take cards from your hand, take control of
your cards, and pull cards from your graveyard.
But most of the Mind Stealer's spells require
high amounts of mana, so you should work on
destroying his land and attacking with small,
fast creatures.

Necromancer
Resides: Swamps
Life: 11
Preferred Magic: Black
Card Profile: Naturally, the
Necromancer's deck concentrates on dead things,
like Zombies, Raise Dead, and other evil things.
Do not play a black deck against him because he
has a number of Swampwalking creatures. You'll
want a supply of enchantments and a Circle of
Protection: Black to stop him.

Nether Fiend
Resides: Swamps
Life: 16
Preferred Magic: Black
Card Profile: The Nether Fiend has
a solid black deck, which relies heavily on The
Hive, Xenic Poltergeist, and Lord of the Pit. But
like the Necromancer, he has no protection from
enchantments, although the aforementioned cards
give him some protection from Circle of
Protection: Black. You'll want to use a mass
destruction spell once he's laid out most of his
cards.
