Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager
Published: 1994
Publisher: SSI

This was SSI's second foray into Dark Sun, a barren desert setting where slaves battled against powerful magic kings. In this game, you journey to a new kingdom, called Tyr, to save it from the machinations of the Dragon King of Ur Draxa. To pave the way for his conquest, the Dragon King's agent in Tyr is summoning a tarrasque to ravage the land.

Along the way to defeating the agent and preventing the summoning of the tarrasque, you can complete various side quests and gather important artifacts. The game wasn't a great departure from Shattered Lands; it used the same engine, combat system, and perspective.

You could import your characters from Shattered Lands into this game or create a party of four mid-level characters. As the world of Dark Sun was designed as a very difficult campaign setting, this computer game had difficulty settings to could make this game tough.

AD&D fans might have gotten a kick out of the tarrasque monster (D&D's version of Godzilla on steroids), but the game was too bug-ridden and simple. Like its predecessor, it didn't fare well at all with critics or fans.
