Recommended Game Boy Advance & Nintendo DS Hardware
Nintendo DS
The new Nintendo DS system features dual LCD screens, one of which is touch-sensitive, and built-in wireless networking. It's also backward compatible, so it can play DS games and Game Boy Advance games.
Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP
The Game Boy Advance SP is about to be replaced by the Nintendo DS, but the system still has a great game library, weighs a third as much as the DS, and retails for only $79.99.
Game Boy Advance SP Headphone Adapter
You'll need the Game Boy Advance SP Headphone Adapter to use a set of headphones with the system, since the unit itself doesn't come with a headphone connector.
Game Boy Advance Connectivity
Get the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable to hook up two GBA SP systems together for multiplayer action. Nintendo also bundles a Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter with the Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen games that allows players to trade and battle over the wireless connection. The Game Link Cable is actually compatible with a lot more games, but more wireless-compatible titles are in the works.
