It has been a busy 12 months in gaming, but it's not quite over yet. We've decided to count in the New Year with an in-depth look at Sega's upcoming titles for 2010 and have headed straight to Japan to get hands-on with Sega's biggest games and chat to its top developers. During the coming week, you'll see our impressions, interviews, and more information on Yakuza 3, Resonance of Fate, Super Monkey Ball: Step and Roll, Valkyria Chronicles 2, and Infinite Space. We'll also have an exclusive interview with Sega head of consumer business Naoya Tsurumi to talk about House of Sonic. So keep it locked to this page all week as we ring in 2010 with Sega.

    LynQ, as amazing as powerstone 3 would be (and it would be) sega had NOTHING to do with that game. It was released on the Dreamcast but it was Capcom's game. Thats like saying Nintendo should release Super Mario RPG 2...

    It looks like things are actually starting to come together for Sega... Bayonetta and Yakuza 3 is a pretty good start for the new year don't u think... Keeping my fingers crossed for Project Needlemouse, as much as I hate recent Sonic games, I actually think they might pull it off this time. A new Phantasy Star for home consoles sounds like it gonna be announced this year too... Oh and if that rumor of a new Shinobi running on the Bayonetta engine is true I'm gonna freak... I doubt that's for real tho...

    Honestly, I don't expect Sega to pull out all the stops. Things like this happen when a company that used to make consoles and games with them only makes games now. I haven't seen a good Sonic since Sonic Adventure 2. . .

    @menusilect Very true.

    Maybe it's just me, but does anyone here think that SEGA is becoming more active than usual?? It's like they REALLY want to redeem themselves. Gotta admit, they sure have confidence.

    @insertwittyid
    The next Sonic game will NOT be in 3D
    and SEGA say that it will be built from the ground up in 2D but theres one problem is sonic in it ? I agree that SEGA made very good games when the Dreamcast was out but after SEGA had to leave there console after no one buying it that much and SEGA had to lay off some people and maby some of them where great but if sega didnt do that thay would hav just gone bankrupted and well who know who would happen after that .
    but i am proud to say SSSSEEEEEEGGGGGAAAA !
    happy new year SEGA.

    @Ovirew
    Really? I thought that Sonic Adventure 2 seemed to feature a more refined version of the Sonic Adventure gameplay. I liked how they removed all of those awful fishing missions and Amy levels. I would argue that the two of those games comprise the only good that has ever come out of 3D Sonic.

    As for hoping for a new 3D Sonic of similar quality, I wouldn't hold my breath simply because from my understanding, very few of the people working at Sega in the Dreamcast days are still with the company. I've finally accepted that Sega will probably never make good games again, so I just leave my Dreamcast plugged in so that I can enjoy what they once were, and not what they are now.

    Does anyone honestly care about sega anymore. I'm so glad they went out of business. Especially considering the rubbish they pulled with bayonetta. Please flush sega down the toilet.

    I think the first Sonic Adventure was the best Sonic game, I would like to see them make a nice 3D Sonic game like that again, but get rid of all the new stuff they've added since then like Rouge, Shadow, Silver and all of those new characters. And don't make the gameplay kinda tacky like it was in Sonic Adventure 2.
