by Tasos Kaiafas designed by Lam Huynh This year's field of racing games is well tuned and ready to roll
This year, there are so many racing games from which to choose it can be a bit overwhelming. Thanks in part to 3D graphics accelerator cards, more game publishers have decided to release some kind of driving game this year, whether it's a light arcade racer or a heavy simulation. And although there was a time when there were virtually no motorcycle racing games available for the PC, there are now five that are either out or currently in development. Yep. It's definitely a great year for virtual drivers of all kinds. So, to vent some of our excitement, we've rounded up as many driving games as we could get our hands on and grouped them together with other games of their type (for example, arcade racing, simulation racing, motorcycle racing, etc.). And since it's a lot more fun to drive a car like you're used to doing, we've also compiled a list of the latest driving controllers, which range in price from around $100 to over $1000. Plus! As an exclusive bonus to GameSpot readers, we provide you with expert advice from CART driver Scott Pruett and NASCAR Winston Cup driver Bobby Labonte, who will take you through each and every track in their respective seasons for insider advice on car setups and track characteristics. Strap on your helmet, pull those gloves on tight, and come along for a great ride!
