How will Starcraft II pro gamers fare in the hellish pits of the underworld? Join the folks from NASL for a Diablo III live stream marathon!
Update: Due to unexpected server downtime, the stream has been delayed until the servers are back up.
Where are big blind Diablo fans? Even I know I will regret this, I pre-ordered the game. A few months ago, when some people says "How do you know if the game won't be a total let down or disappointment", big blind Diablo fans said "shut up". Now where they are?
This was the last time I pre-ordered a game. They keep raising prices each day but they lost a serious collector (btw I have almost 400 original game). By now I seriously stop pre-ordering also I will wait games prices drop down even I wait it goes to garbage no matter how long does it take (1 year, 2 years,..)
10 years, using battenet, same game engine with new textures, and you still fail. Only blizzard.
I bet the AH is bug free.
So.. anyone else getting error 3007 in Australia? It is the worst thing I've ever seen. Makes me want to return the game today and get my money back.
That online-single player thing sucks,,, I don't now the reason they did that... but they are not going to sotop piracy with it.....My game is comning tomorow hope it's gooooood :)
whay I have to play single player ONLINE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to be a big Blizzzard fan, but after their lately schemes, I'm terribly dissapointed
@felfelip This isn't anything new EVERYONE was informed of single player DRM.... Based on how battlenet works I don't understand why you weren't aware of this obvious but perhaps annoying feature. Just wait a few weeks for the DRM crack because you and at least 500+ MC users complain about this feature I'm sure someone will make a crack so you can play single player w/o online, and if not we always have tl2 coming in a few months.
Stuff like this makes me whant to get pirated-cracked version blizzard kinda F**** up , people who are real fans of the game dont need this sh**
blizzard forgot it was an always-online game... Not having enough servers to satisfy the needs of those few folks who actually bought the game the day it came out is a comprehensible mistake. Isnt it?
I believe they want you to be online so that there is no bots, and also to make sure people can't make fake weapons.
I didn't even play Diablo 2 until the expansion was out. I purposely waited a whole year for the expansion, then played the game for the first time. I then enjoyed the game in its higher resolution, with an added act, general improvements to the game, and two more character classes right off the bat (and Druid wound up my favorite). Waiting the year was easy; there are always plenty of other games to play (not to mention real-life activities).
So now here's Diablo 3 and with it all the moaning. But if you either hold out for an expansion or just wait until all the problems are worked out, you won't have to trouble yourself over a thing. It's been a ten-year wait as it is, so it's no big deal to chill a little longer; the game will still be there for you. In the meantime play another game...or go surf, climb, ski, take your woman on a nice trip, etc.
You know why Asia got it first? Because they farm like crazy so when you will be joining the game like a desperate kid you will buy some items and that puts money in Blizzard hand mwuahahaahhhh it's all about the money and you are a blind if you don't see that.
1) I agree that playing online should be entirely optional. If you want to play with others as group go online otherwise play offline.
2) The game launch is by far the smoothest. They fixed most of the kinks the first day and as of now game is running fine.
Well this is what many wanted to combat piracy now enjoy your Single Player with the already payed copy of your game in your hands if you can.
Pre-Order it they say... be the first among the first to play it they say.. here i am still not able to play it while the Korean/Chinese killed Diablo already =_='. Why SP need to be Online 24h.. anyway? its not MMORPG.. DAFUG kind of logic is that!? We bought the game.. toward some degree its our properties.. so by freaking right's~~.. we play it when we want to play it!.. not some server who dictates when we should or can play it...
@Guyver81 The servers are there because instead of having an application like steam, you sign in to battlenet through the game. But you get all the benefits of battlenet in the game and don't have to jump around between the game and the website and posting in forums.
I don't know if you've ever played Diablo 2, but it was heavily multiplayer focused, unless you want to play it 1 time through on normal. That is NOT the norm is just because you see it as a single player experience does not mean you're in the majority.
Also it's one day of problems, you have a lifetime to play this game. In two weeks time no one will even remember what error 37 is.
@Tremblay343 So I should thank Blizzard?
@picho86 No you should just not join the mob of Blizzard is a drm devil when they're basically doing the exact same thing as steam but no one has a problem with that.
I remember when Steam first launched and you couldn't play half like 2 the first day of release and everyone was calling for the death of valve.
Completely different story now.
@Tremblay343 Oh they will remember it for many years to come.Something goes wrong=Error 37.
@Guyver81 nice periodic spam there ! like it ...
@Doomrul Because i still not satisfied by this.. need to voice out or ill explode =_='. Thanks anyway =)
@Guyver81 Go torchlight 2 :) I'll meet you there :D
@Psy_m_on Wish i have it =).. Kinda not in the situation where i can buy all the game out there =). Thanks for the Offer =D
Why do you need to be online for playing offliner, when the game allrdy is available on private servers :s (beta was to btw.)
The only reason you need to be online to play singleplayer is to avoid piracy
witch i highly doubt gonna stop hackers from cracking diablo 3,
World of Warcraft was based on same way to keep pirates away, and it still go cracked
and private servers were made
I'm not buying this until they fix the online for single player either by providing close to 90% server uptimes or by removing it.
All i can say is Blizzard have got some balls charging people for a single player game and not being able to let them play it because of server issues like this! Anyway you want to look at it....
Who do Blizzard think they are!!!
In all honesty, expectations of a smooth launch aside, as management I would expect heads to roll internally once the dust settles. Call it whatever you want: Bad business, rushed product, delay of sales....lost potential revenue...FACT
Chill folks. Server issues and downtime are quite common at the beginning for many online games, especially ones as high profile as Diablo III. I fully expected this would happen, and I'm very sure all these issues will be sorted out in time.
@Blaze787 For the company that runs the larges MMORPG? I wasn't expecting this.
So you accept poor service if it is common?
@roganth It's not that I accept poor service. I think anticipating launch-day server load and tweaking the hardware/software accordingly is something that's difficult even with a major stress test just prior to launch. It's something that they can only grapple with first-hand once the barrage of launch week customers come in.
@Blaze787 If you fully expected this to happen.... Why didn't Blizzard?
@Oakals Blizzard probably is the company that has the best knowledge/experience of very complex server infrastructure for an online game. They tried to give us all a smooth launch, it didn't work. I can't even imagine what another company, with less experience in an online game, would have done. It would have been much, much worse.
