Imperium Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Infiltrators
Infiltrators allow you to obtain the plans to enemy units and have the advantage of being able to morph into enemy infantry, helping them avoid detection on their way into an enemy base. To steal the plans for a Freedom Guard infantry unit, you'll have to sneak into a Freedom Guard Training Facility. Want the plans to an enemy armored unit? Head to an enemy Assembly Plant. Just want to see what an enemy is up to? Infiltrate a headquarters building and you'll be able to access the enemy's minimap.
Vulnerabilities
To use your morphing ability, you'll have to be able to see an enemy infantry unit, which is actually sometimes more difficult than you might expect. Infiltrators also don't have any weapons and can't take much of a beating. As long as you're not detected on your way out the door, you'll be able to escape from an enemy base the same way you came in. Just to be safe, however, try to avoid getting close to enemy units and avoid taking routes that require you to walk by enemy turrets.
How to Get the Most out of Infiltrators
It's not a bad strategy to try to get an Infiltrator into an enemy's HQ early on. Even if your Infiltrator doesn't survive the return journey, you'll get a good idea of what you're up against, which should give you a significant tactical advantage. If you do decide that you want to make a run for some plans, never send your Infiltrator past enemy turrets alone. If morphed, you may be able to make it inside to get the plans, but you'll never survive the return journey if you're detected. Parked Infiltrators can serve as fairly effective scouts, as well, but won't be able to avoid detection forever, and it will be lights out once the enemy spots them.
