Imperium Unit Descriptions and Strategies:
Bions

screenshot Unlike puny Guardians, these cyborg warriors form an effective part of your fighting forces. Able to attack both air and land units with their plasma rifles, Bions can sustain and inflict quite a bit of damage.

Vulnerabilities
Bions are more heavily armored than Guardians but are still vulnerable to all Freedom Guard attacks, especially artillery. Bions are also fairly slow moving and can't respond quickly to threats.

How to Get the Most out of Bions
Use Bions instead of Guardians to supplement your armored units. By cranking out a large group of Bions, you can quickly assemble a force capable of defending your base from both air and land attacks. Later on in the Imperium campaign, when Freedom Guard air units roam the skies, use large Bion groups as escorts for your prowling Tachion Tanks and for your artillery. Bions function as artillery guards particularly well, since they can protect the vulnerable SCARAB Artillery from air and ground attacks.

Bions are powerful enough that they can be used in an offensive role as well, but their limited range makes them vulnerable to Freedom Guard armor and turret defenses. When attacking with Bions, group them together with armored units, such as Tachion Tanks or even Scout Runners which have a longer range attack, and use the armored units to initiate the attack. The computer opponent loves to charge when attacked, and if you have a nice group of Bions waiting in the wings, you'll be able to inflict some serious damage before the enemy units have an opportunity to react to your forces.
